This is where members can find additional information
The members page and the linked rules and welfare pages are the part of the website reserved for the club’s members and their family only. They are the area of the website where important and useful club information and documentation can be found, and where any club member content can be displayed. As with restricted access it is viewable to members, and not to the casual web browser.
The content in the pages and their layout does change as information is added, so the pages develop. Currently the pages feature a selection of pictures taken at the club in two galleries, together with links to fencing rules, a list of terminology and links to welfare policies adopted by the club and insurance and BFA membership. Equipment for sale and the armouring service is also included.
If members have any ideas of how to use the page, what content they would like to see on it, or provide content for it they can email the club via the below.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and members data.
The data we currently obtain and hold on members is specific and appropriate to the needs of running a fencing club.
Members data is not available to any third parties and is not used for marketing outside of internal club marketing i.e. between the club and its members only.
Members information comes from the original membership forms they complete, these physical forms are held in a folder kept off site.
The membership form includes name, address, emergency telephone number, email address, date of birth and relevant medical condition.
This information includes details appropriate for identifying the individual as a member of the club in case of an insurance claim by the member against the club. Also this material includes details required in case of medical emergency, plus data for contact purposes.
Using the membership form the club also produces Emergency Contact Information (ECI) sheets, these contain the members name, date of birth, contact name [obtained by enquiry], telephone number(s) and medical condition. These are for use in case of medical emergency, (accident/illness), and in order to save time going through membership forms, also it saves having to carry membership forms to the club every session. The ECI sheets are held off site and taken to the club every session.
The club also holds Image Consent Forms containing the name of the parent and child, and Permission form to Go Home Alone/with another Parent containing the name of the parent, child and other parent. These forms are kept in another folder held off site.
